SNOW DAY

TOMORROW IS A SNOW DAY! The school district canceled school at 5 this evening because the roads are so bad. Only in South Carolina would they not have snow plows or enough salt for the roads. But hey its another day to work on lesson plans and other projects!

Lazy Weekend

Well Friday night we got snow and A LOT of ice so needless to say this weekend I have been iced in my apartment. I am not complaining at all though. I have lounged around in my sweats and caught up on all my lesson plans and assignments! Yesterday I watched the first season of How I Met Your Mother...so addicting. I am currently watching the second season today!

What is your favorite TV series?

Well the local weather man is saying that the ice will refreeze tonight which will make the roadways hazardous in the morning. Therefore a possible late start for school?!?!

Hope everyone keeps warm!

Whew What A Week

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. These past two weeks have been busy. I am on the go from 6:45am to 8pm with student teaching and classes. I live for my weekends :) Last weekend I went to visit Chris. Although I wasn't very productive with school work we had a great time and met up with some friends on Friday night.

He is pretty much amazing won't you say?

This week has been crazy but I LOVE my students. They do the funniest stuff and say the darnest things but got to love them! Each of my students do the sweetest things! One even gave my $100,000 in response to their writing journal prompt. The prompt was if you had an extra $100,000 and could not spend it on yourself who would you give it to? She was so sweet and she wrote I would give it to Ms. McCarty to pay back her student loans! Heck yes! If only it was real!

This weekend will be a PRODUCTIVE weekend! We are expecting ice and snow so I will be inside keeping warm! My plans are to get ahead on lesson plans, finish my long range plan, finish two papers, and read. I will be in my sweatpants just relaxing! My weekend will consist of school work, hot chocolate and seasons 1 and 2 of "How I Met Your Mother!"

Now I just have to survive Friday....I think I can I think I can!

The Boy Who Stole My Heart :)

We were both young when I first saw you
I close my eyes
And the flashback starts
I love you and that's all I really know...

Chris and I met in youth group when I was in the 6th grade and he was in the 9th grade. We recently reconnected and we started back right where we left off! I can't wait to continue with this love story!

Brr It's Cold Outside...

Baby it's cold outside! This morning I had two more PRAXIS exams and boy am I happy those are out of the way! When I left the house it was 15 degrees and it felt like 9 degrees according to the Weather Channel. Talk about wanting to get back in bed and curl up with the covers!

Today I have been getting organized for my finally semester! I can't believe this week I start my internship. I have so many feelings of excitement, nervous, etc going through my mind at the moment. Today it hit me I am the teacher this semester!

This week will be crazy with Intern Institute on Monday and Tuesday, meetings at my elementary school on Wednesday, first day teaching on Thursday, and teacher work day on Friday! Friday night I am going home to visit my family and Chris! I am so excited!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Christmas Break is Almost Over :(

Needless to say this break has been jammed packed with friends, family, parties, and lots of time to reconnect with old friends! I love being home! I will be depressed for like a week until I get readjusted to school life (ok maybe not depressed but deeply sadden). These past two days have been AMAZING! An old friend from youth group back when I was in middle school and freshman year of high school and I met up! Chris and I have similar pasts in respect that we both broke off our engagements for the same reason during 2009. It was so nice to be able to meet up with him and honestly we clicked instantly! We hadn't seen each other in years but we just picked up where we left off! We both agreed we can't wait to see what happens. I honestly on count down until MLK Jr. weekend! I will def. keep ya'll updated!

Well its that time of year again when I am planning for the year. This year financially will be extremely different from last year. I will graduate, hopefully find a teaching job, and do all the big girls things. Money stresses me out. I hate numbers when it deals with my money ha. So I did some research today to find out useful strategies for budgeting. Well needless to say I found this online site called Mint.com and it does the budgeting for you! How wonderful!

Click on the logo above to go see the site for yourself!
What are your budgeting strategies?

On Monday I will start my last semester of my undergrad degree. I am excited but at the same time I am nervous and scared of the big girl world ha. I know I can do it and I am trusting in him to lead me to the answers! Hope everyone is having a great week!

New Year's Resolutions

Hello 2010! I have waited for this year for a while. It's going to be a big year! I will graduate in May with my undergraduate degree in Special Education and Elementary Education! I celebrated New Year's with friends at their condo. At midnight we set off fireworks on the beach! I love this time of year!

1. Find a teaching position job in South Carolina preferably in my home district.
2. Exercise at least one hour every week- hopefully this will increase!
3. Cook one new recipe every month.
4. Get organized...especially teaching materials and all before I start teaching!
5. Find a part time job!
6. Get involved with working with youth in the community.
7. Smile and pay a compliment to someone every day.
8. Graduate with honors from college.
9. Travel somewhere new!
10. Meet new people who will provide encouragement and support!
