New House and Sick

First off: We MOVED!!!! Second: My amazing husband bought me a new MacBook PRO!!!!!

On Friday we closed on the house and we began moving in immediately! I am absolutely in love with our new home and can't wait to post pictures of the final product! I know it will be a work in progress but we are so excited. My parents came up Friday night to assist with the move on Saturday. Mom and I went shopping for the new house while the boys moved---we found great deals at Target! I love finding stuff on sale!

I have been fighting some sort or another sinus infection crud for almost two weeks. It really fit me on Sunday. I attempted to unpack and organize but I was so exhausted. Around 9 on Sunday I decided I had to get the doctor immediately on Monday morning. (Chris tried to get me to go all day---I am stubborn).

Monday morning I went to the closest Urgent Care center as soon as they opened. When I pulled into the parking lot it was packed so I knew there was going to be a wait. Once I finally got into see a doctor he told me I had a severe upper respiratory infection, double ear infection and asthma---why is that I always have multiple things wrong with me?!?! haha I went to CVS got the prescriptions and came home and slept for 4 hours! The doctor ordered that I do not return to work until Wednesday---I am going to be so far behind ugh. But I have to get the health better first!

So today I am feeling a little bit better my ears are still killing me but hopefully with more rest they will be 100% better by tomorrow. It is so hard to rest when I am looking at all the boxes that I could be unpacking. Well I am going to go curl up on the couch and watch Full House!

It Has Been A While!

Sorry it has been such a long time since I have last posted. Things have been crazy busy at the Wetmore household. Work has been crazy for both of us and we have been in bed by 9 almost every night haha---we are getting old.
Two weeks ago I went to HHI to visit family and surprise my brother at his basketball game---he had the best game he had all year. Maybe its a sign I should be all every single one.
Chris is looking at selling his truck so this past weekend we went around to car dealerships getting offers. Why can't money just be easy?!?! His truck eats gas-I mean like 75 bucks a week. So he is looking for something more fuel efficient! It will be nice to save some money that way each week.
Besides that I have just started packing and about to run to Walmart to get windshield wipers since mine are awful! Got to love a handy husband!

Relaxing Weekend!

So after 3 days off and 2 late start days its again the weekend :) I love spending the weekend relaxing with the most amazing husband! We have not done a lot anything this weekend which makes me happy. I have used the days to work on some school work that I neglected over my extended winter vacation from school. We went grocery shopping---since we had the bare essentials only and went to check on the house.
The fence is coming along even though we need to talk to the builder asap. We drew out the fence but where the posts are currently isn't correct. I am hoping it will be an easy fix. We went to the gym on Saturday for a little bit and boy my abs still burn :)
Well we both have tomorrow off for MLK Jr. Day so I hope we can begin packing and cleaning up the apartment! In less then a month we will be in our new home!

Ice, Ice, and more Ice

We woke up this morning to ICE....and boy was it everywhere. Chris called into work and didn't go in til 11. He called to say the roads were awful and no one knew how to drive. Not sure why this is a surprise to him since he complains about people's driving when it is sunny ha.

Since he has been at work I have entered in all my grades and report card comments! Whew it only took me two hours. I am so bad about entering them online. Maybe this semester I will keep up with...we will see. I am about to adjust my lesson plans for this week---even though tomorrow is up in the air. Tonight's forecast in high 16 and tomorrow morning it is only suppose to be 18 degrees. Brrrrr.... Therefore all this is going to keep freezing since its only 28 right now. A couple fellow teachers and I have been debating what they will do. My guess is late start but some schools have already began to cancel so we will see.

After I complete my lesson plans I hope finish some laundry and snuggle on the couch with a good book. I never have the opportunity to read during the week because it is so crazy busy so I am enjoying this time! I started a new book last night that truly has me engaged. Its called Heart of the Matter by Emily Griffin. I love her books! I bought this one over the summer but just didn't get to it before the hussle and bussle of school.

Snow Day

We were awoken at 5:30 this morning to a power surge and a bolt of lightening that brighten our room...lets just say we both screamed. I didn't know that there could be thunder and lightening during a snow storm...then again I am a southern girl we aren't suppose to have this kinda weather.

Chris called his work's weather hotline and they were on delay and told to call back at 9:30 but before he could even call back his boss texted him to say they were closed. Apparently the roads are awful...we don't know we haven't been out. We have seen cars leave the apartment complex but then they turn right around and come back.

We have about six inches of snow and now it is starting to freeze :( It's only 25 and windy. This morning we took Palmetto out in it to play. At first he didn't know what to do. Here are the pictures of our child....

Chris and I....I was freezing...

The snow has stopped currently. We have had batches of freezing rain and sleet this afternoon though. Every weather forecast predicts more sleet and freezing rain. The highway patrol and city have alerted us to stay off the roads. This morning they couldn't get them cleaned fast enough before it would be covered again. They are predicting all the snow to freeze over making the roads that much worst. I haven't heard anything about school tomorrow just predictions of closure from other teachers in my school district. They are suppose to make a call tonight regarding tomorrow. Personally I hate driving in this weather and I am terrified of ice so I would be perfectly content having a cancellation again :)


In all fairness I have been working on data folders and lessons for much of the day. I just fear that we might lose power tonight if everything goes as predicted. I can handle the snow but not the ice and no power :(

UPDATE:

NO SCHOOL on Tuesday! I am preparing myself to be massive productive tomorrow! I have a to do list a mile long that needs to get done. Well now it is time for Bachelor and National Championship! Who are yall cheering for? I honestly don't have any connection with Auburn or Oregon so I am just watching it to watch it. Chris says he is going for Oregon so we will see what happens!

Winter Storm Warning...

50 days....can't believe how fast it has gone. My mama wasn't joking when she said life is a fast ride.

This weekend has been crazy busy. Friday night I came home from work to flowers and a bottle of wine. Chris had also planned a surprise date night. He cooked dinner and cleaned :) then we watched one of my favorite movies: Sweet Home Alabama.

Saturday Chris had to work til 1 then we were suppose to go to the gym. Plans changed we went and saw the house, grabbed lunch, and went to HH Gregg. When we bought our furniture we got a 600 dollar giftcard. Since we know the manager at the store she worked us a great day! We came home with a 32 inch tv for a bedroom, a 19 inch tv for our guest room, and Apple TV!!!! I am a huge Apple lover! I love how we can just connect to our iTunes account to watch all of our movies, listen to our music, and view our pictures. It also hooks into our Netflix account which we love.

Today we ran to the grocery story because we are under a winter storm warning....yall should have seen the people. I had to laugh at what some of the people had in their carts. One guy had 4 cases of beer, bread, eggs, and water. I had to laugh not just at his amount of beer but at the eggs. I mean seriously what are you suppose to do with the eggs if the electric goes out. But I guess he was just following what the news said. This morning they kept saying make sure you get milk, bread, eggs, and water.

Chris's dad came through town today and we got to show him the house. We also went to Five Guys. I love their cajun fries! Who has eaten there before?

The weather forecast is stating between 4-6 inches of snow tomorrow and tomorrow and then ice. So we are now at home just relaxing waiting to find out whether we will have school and work tomorrow. The rumor is we will be out tomorrow and delay Tuesday. I could really use an extra day. I have a to do list that is crazy long. Well I am going to get back to performing my snow dance :)

UPDATE:
My snow dance worked!!!! At about 6 the district office contacted employees about school being closed tomorrow! Leaving the school work alone tonight for game night with my hubby!

It's Almost Friday!!!

47 days....wow time has flown by!

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday! We are both exhausted from getting back into the weekly routine. I have worked on school work every night this week :(

Today we got the finally contract for the house which makes me excited because we are getting to move a little bit forward in the whole buying a house thing.

After today I am thinking tonight calls for a glass of wine and some crafts for my classroom while the hubby watches TV!

Today we had to go meet with the builder to map out of fence for the new house. So while Chris was doing that I took pictures. We are beyond excited we can't wait! This weekend we bought curtains for the new house that I have been eyeballing for sometime! Of course they are from Target :) They are a burnt orange color and I wish I could show yall but I can't find them online :(

We are so excited we can hardly wait! 

Other then the house we have just relaxed around the house. I worked on lesson plans and getting materials together to head back to work tomorrow. Chris did laundry :) and played video games. 

After this two week break it is going to be hard waking up at 5am but I am sure the stories of winter break from sweet students will be worth it :)

A YEAR IN REVIEW

January 9th: We OFFICIALLY started dating. Both of us had just gotten out of previous engagements and said we were just taking it slow and see what happened. Since Chris and I grew up together we already knew each other so we got to skip the getting to know you part. If you ask my parents they knew from the very beginning we were going to end of getting married.

February: We celebrated Valentine's Day together in Greenville! We went to the falls downtown right after the massive snowstorm we got the night before!

 Also in February I signed my contract with Richland 1 and we decided to move to Columbia together after I graduated!

March: Chris moved back home until I graduated to save some money! I made weekend trips home to see him. 

April: Disney World trip! We got engaged April 4th at Animal Kingdom!

May: I graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelors of Science in Special Education and Elementary Education!

One of my best friends aka TWIN got married to her high school sweetheart :)

 June: Our engagement pictures were taken! It was the hottest day of the year we believe.

Adopted our puppy Palmetto! Palmetto came from the local shelter he has previously had heartworm and a broken back leg that next healed properly.

We went to the Panthers vs. Cardinals game for our 1 month anniversary.

We began the purchasing process of our first home! We will be closing in February! There will be more pictures to come!

We celebrated our first Christmas together as a married couple!

This year has flown by. We had a lot of exciting events this year. We are looking forward to what 2011 has planned for us!

Honeymoon!

Initially Chris and I were just going to stay on Hilton Head after the wedding and spend Thanksgiving with the family since we are going to Hawaii for 2 weeks in the summer. But one night Chris was just looking around on Priceline and found a great deal on a Royal Caribbean cruise from Tampa. So we signed up of course! A week before the cruise we actually got upgraded from an interior room to a balcony!!! Chris had cruised with them several times before and was a gold member so we got all kinds of cool things on board-two nights of free drinks, a cheese plate, a coupon book with free pictures, robes, and a bunch of discounts!
The morning after the wedding my family threw us a going away brunch at the clubhouse we got married. After we ate we packed up the car and headed south! We could not have asked for better weather! We stopped in downtown Disney to get the just married buttons-we only thought it was right since we got engaged in Disney :)

 

After our stop in Disney we drove to Tampa to check into the hotel his parents got us. Of course we had to go to Target that night before my beloved straightener decided to quit working :( But we discovered that the Target was multi-story and had a parking garage--bizarre.
